Will You Make a Difference in Someone’s Life?

Making a difference in the lives of others can be one of the most rewarding things one can do in life.

With that in mind, what attempts are you making to be the difference in someone’s life?

From doing nice things as a neighbor to helping a stranger, there are many different things you can do.

That said when you help someone with their health; it can be the greatest reward ever.

Being There When Someone Needs You

Although you can’t be there for others 24/7, there are things you can do that will make a difference.

For instance, what if you helped someone you know or a stranger with living a healthier and happier life?

One example of this would be helping someone when they have trouble breathing. An even more serious situation is when they are having chest pains or other issues. This can leave them in serious jeopardy without immediate medical help.

This is where CPR and knowing the American Heart CPR guidelines are key.

You can make a difference by giving someone an extra lease on life until professionals come.

In the event you have concerns getting your CPR certification will involve too much effort, don’t be. You can get such certification online. When you do, it means you did not have to do a long commute to attend classes and more.

Also follow the lives of those around you to make sure they are as healthy as can be.

No, you can’t or shouldn’t watch them 24/7. That said you can check in on them to make sure they are eating well, getting exercise, and seeing their doctor.

Watching Out for Neighbors

How close would you say you are with your immediate neighbors?

While some tend to stick to themselves, others are much more open and involved in the lives around them. Even though you do not want to be over-bearing, you can still show you care.

For example, do you have an elderly neighbor living alone? If so, are they pretty good about taking care of themselves?

If you said no, are you or anyone else doing anything to watch out for them?

Unfortunately, some elderly people are on their own. Whether through kids moving out or trouble in families; some have no one to communicate with. When this happens, it can lead to trouble for the individual left behind.

If you have an elderly neighbor who does not seem to get much attention, do what you can to help them out.

This can include:

  • Making sure they are eating enough.
  • Making sure they get to their doctor if they have no one else to take them.
  • Making sure their home is safe and secure. This includes not only from intruders, but that their home is safe to walk around in.
  • Making sure they have someone to talk to on a regular basis. Often, having someone to chat with even for a few minutes a day can make all the difference in the world.

If able to make a difference in one’s life, consider yourself lucky and happy for the opportunities.
